抗美援朝战争期间，侧颜志愿军首长交给某部连长方勇（张勇手 饰）一个艰巨任务，侧颜让其带领一支侦察队深入敌占区，炸毁一座敌援军必经之路——康平桥。领受任务后，方勇带队日夜兼程，巧妙的绕过敌人的雷区封锁带。在过公路时，他们伪装成美军巡逻队，一班长（邢吉田 饰）化妆成美国佬对在公路上临时露营的李伪车队哇哇乱叫，敌上尉（谢万和 饰）不知真伪，只好带车队悻悻离去。他们迅速通过阿玛妮（曲云 饰）和游击队员朴金玉（袁霞 饰）取得联系。之后他们化装成伤兵，骗取一辆吉普车开到桥头，摸清了敌人桥头的火力布防及大桥结构。此时，敌人发现丢失了吉普车，开枪拦截，方勇驾车疾驶离开，敌人摩托车队穷追不舍，情急中方勇弃车摆脱了敌人。当敌上校听说康平桥上发现共军时，绝望地大喊“完了”......
