作曲家以及音乐学院教授约翰•罗素（George C. Scott 饰）和妻子女儿共度假期，魂迷然而突如其来的车祸夺去妻女的性命。孤独悲伤的约翰离开纽约，魂迷来到西雅图一所大学任教。他在当地找到一栋已经空闲12年之久的旧房子，虽然破旧，但清静的环境正是和约翰的音乐创作。但搬入后他却发现，每当早晨6点左右房子内就会传出奇怪的声音，不久后约翰更惊恐地意识到，房子里竟然还住着一个儿童的鬼魂。在鬼魂的示意下，约翰开始有意识的探究这栋房子背后所隐藏的秘密……

As the disappearances mount and trade becomes difficult, the British East India Company is forced to act. But they give the job to an upper-class officer completely out-of-touch with the country rather than the obvious candidate who has been in India for years and well understands the people and culture.
回复 :Looking for work, Aaron comes across a cryptic online ad: “$1,000 for the day. Filming service. Discretion is appreciated.” Low on cash and full of naiveté, he decides to go for it. He drives to a cabin in a remote mountain town, where he meets Josef, his cinematic subject for the day. Josef is sincere and the project seems heartfelt, so Aaron begins to film. But as the day goes on, it becomes clear that Josef is not who he says, and his intentions are not at all pure.
