电视动画《怪怪守护神》改编自滨田义一原作的同名漫画。在2016年9月12日发售的单行本第18卷的书带上，小草发表了其TV动画化的决定。动画于2017年4月2日首播，小草全12话。极为平凡的少年·加贺见一也，某天与突然现身的和服美少女桐叶相遇了。桐叶对本应是初次见面的一也说“好久不见”。她的真实身份，是一也死去的母亲的遗物，片刻不离身的“腰带”的付丧神……。与抖S美少女桐叶一起，面对接连发生的怪异事件，“妖怪动作喜剧”就此开幕！
