桂治洪“邪”三部曲之末。人鬼能否相恋？一只女鬼爱上了年轻英俊的马素（罗莽 饰），神灵于是找到她的父亲帮她提亲。马素得知后吓得魂不附体，神灵毅然拒绝。可是女鬼并没放弃，她得知马素暗恋漂亮女孩红卜卜，于是设法让红卜卜死于车祸，然后借尸还魂。马素见到暗恋已久的女孩主动投怀送抱，喜不自胜，两人开始了一起生活。生活中每当马素有什么不如意，女鬼都会运用自己的能力帮他排忧解难。但天下没有不透风的墙，马素终于知道了恋人原来是那只喜欢自己的女鬼……

It is more memorable than Julien Duvivier's earlier silent version of 1925, also named Poil de Carotte.The part of Poil de Carotte was played by 11 year old Robert Lynen, who was alleged to have been discovered whilst walking down the Champs-Elysées in Paris. Lynen is totally captivating and the film made him an instant star, launching what looked like becoming a very promising film career – until he was shot dead whilst fighting against the Germans in 1944. Harry Baur, a legendary stage and film actor (who also died during World War II, allegedly at the hands of the Gestapo), also turns in a typically fine performance. The reconciliation between father and son at the end of the film provides its most enduring image, enough to melt the heart of all but the most stoical of spectators.
